The young Ben Simmons and his current franchise – the Philadelphia 76ers, have almost certainly ended ties. The duo are most definitely at a crossroads, and the player wishes not to return to a place he once called home.
While the side still insists that Simmons has a future with them, the latter is adamant on finding a new home. After being left despondent from a season of lows, Simmons was reportedly unhappy with the way he was treated at Philadelphia. This has seen him find the exit doors in the off-season.
In his four seasons with the team, Simmons averaged almost 16 points and over 8 rebounds per game. However, the season gone by was not the best of his campaigns, as he amassed only 14.3 points. In addition, his defensive contributions weren’t the best either.

This meant that for long spells, the 25-year-old found himself warming the bench. Thus, he decided that he will not return to the 76ers training, and wants to split ways.
But what if Simmons doesn’t have any buyers?
Ben Simmons reportedly willing to sit out entire season if he stays at Philadelphia
After the strenuous exchanges, Simmons has hit rock bottom. Although the management still has hope, there is none left with the All-star. And according to a recent report, if he were to stay put at Philadelphia for the 2021-22 season, he is okay with sitting it out.
The revelation came from Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
Ben Simmons is willing to sit the whole season if Philly doesn’t move him, per @ramonashelburne
“When you talk to people close to Ben, I say, ‘Okay, worst-case scenario it takes all year. Would he sit all year?’ And the answer right now is: ‘Yes.’”

According to the report, “When you talk to people close to Ben, I say ‘Okay, worst case scenario it takes all year. Would he sit all year?’ And the current answer right now is yes.”
This means that if there are no takers for the all-round prowess, he will be all but happy to warm the bench at his current side. His reported mismatched equations with fellow teammates, lack of faith from the management and the fans, as well as underwhelming performances, have all led to this.
