The Chicago Bulls have made waves in the NBA world with their plans to sign a new player as the dust slowly settles across the league following the conclusion of the February 9 deadline. Since Lonzo Ball’s knee injury sidelined him for the entire season, the Bulls have been in dire need of additional help in their backcourt. Earlier reports suggested that the Bulls were prioritizing Russell Westbrook, but his recent deal with the LA Clippers has led the team to explore other options. After losing Westbrook, the Bulls are planning to sign a deal with a $110 million worth NBA All-Star player, who shares an unknown connection with MJ.?
In other words, the team is reportedly planning to sign John Wall and former Los Angeles Lakers star Patrick Beverley as well, both of whom are point guards. Therefore, John Wall, who has supposedly made more money in two years than Jordan made in his entire career, could likely end up in the same team that the Ghost of Chicago lead in the 90s to win six championships.??

According to Bulls insider K.C. Johnson, Patrick Beverley, a Chicago native, is the current front-runner to join the Bulls, along with John Wall, “Bulls could pivot to John Wall, Patrick Beverley.” Beverley was recently traded by the Lakers to the Magic, where the two parties agreed for a buyout. Beverley has cleared waivers and is now eligible to sign with any team. During his stint with the Lakers, he averaged 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds, while shooting 41% from the field in 45 games. He has also spent time with the Timberwolves, the Clippers, and the Rockets throughout his career.?
On the other hand, Wall is a true point guard and a former All-Star. He played for the Clippers during his lone season with the franchise, averaging 11.4 points and 5.2 assists in 34 appearances. There are rumours that he could potentially return to the Wizards, his former team.?

Regardless of who the Bulls end up signing, they need help in their backcourt. With Ball out for the rest of the season, the team’s playoff hopes are in jeopardy and they will need to find a replacement in the Point Guard position quickly. The signing of either Beverly or Wall would provide much-needed depth to the Bulls’ roster and could help them push for a playoff spot.

What makes this signing interesting is John Wall’s infamous connection with Michael Jordan. Incidentally, Wall used to play for the Washington Wizards before joining the Houston Rockets. However, during his stint, the Wizards weren’t in the best of shape. Therefore, Michael Jordan’s former agent David Falk ripped into the five-time All-Star and called for him to be traded. “Before Wall becomes Nene, I would trade him and get rid of him,? Falk had said. ?I?m serious. He doesn?t have a feel for the game.”
