The future of NBA superstar Kevin Durant for the Brooklyn Nets is still unknown. KD and the Nets didn’t have the best of seasons last year. The team had to play without superstar Kyrie Irving for almost the whole season because of vaccination rules. They also had to go through the issues with another superstar James Harden. He then left for the Philadelphia 76ers. Despite all this, the Nets clinched a playoff spot. However, the Boston Celtics comfortably swept them in the first round.

Earlier reports said that Irving wanted away. However, after he committed to the Nets, reports of Durant wanting out came out. It was said that KD gave an ultimatum to Joe Tsai. The team owner needs to choose between Durant and the pairing of head coach Steve Nash and GM Sean Marks.

Kevin Durant and Trae Young

The Nets owner has then shown his support for his coach and GM via Twitter. So the Slim Reaper’s future with the Nets looks bleak. But there has not been any breakthrough yet. Even though Durant had a poor playoff by his standards, he had one of the best regular seasons since his OKC days. KD averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists in 55 games last season. So he could definitely help any team and turn them into contenders. And as per recent reports, the Atlanta Hawks are a huge fan of the former MVP.

The reports suggest the Hawks offered John Collins, De?Andre Hunter, and a draft pick for Durant. However, nothing has materialized so far. But a team with superstars Trae Young and Kevin Durant looks like a scary proposition. They would run ragged on the NBA defenses. The Hawks have already made some solid moves this offseason.

Recently, they added young all-star Dejounte Murray to their ranks. Murray had a breakthrough season last year with the San Antonio Spurs as he almost averaged a triple-double. He averaged 21.1 points, 9.2 assists, and 8.3 rebounds per game in 68 games. So adding KD to the mix would make them a contender. However, the trade demands of the Nets might prove to be a roadblock.
