This season, Nikola Jokic fell short of seizing his third MVP award in a row. But has the loss against Joel Embiid kept Jokic from having the time of his life? Not even close. The Denver Nuggets centerpiece’s consistent triple-double shows were at the heart of Denver’s first trip to the Finals. Setting an NBA Finals record with another triple-double, the Joker gave his side an edge over Miami in the Finals. An ex-NBA star weighed in on Jokic’s sublime run and revealed how Jokic reminds him of some big names in the NBA.

Hoops enthusiasts are now discussing where to place Nikola Jokic in a list of all-time greats. Though he did not go to that extent, an NBA star turned analyst proclaimed that Jokic’s character reminds him of Stephen Curry and Tim Duncan.

The NBA world is well aware of the way Stephen Curry changed the game with his ace three-point shooting. In the latest episode of?The Old Man and the Three?podcast, host JJ Redick and Co examined if Nikola Jokic can influence the game and the upcoming draft on the back of his recent heroics.

Ex- NBA star JJ Redick was quick to recall an article he read after the 2006 NBA Finals. Given Dwyane Wade’s iconic Finals run with Miami, teams were then on the lookout for a next Dwyane Wade, Redick pointed out, citing the article.

Redick recalled this article to subtly state that it won’t come as a surprise if teams will be pursuing a next Jokic in the future. Redick quickly shifted the conversation to the Joker’s character. “Let’s talk about the skill set in a second. But I use the comparison today, he [Nikola Jokic] reminds me a lot of Steph and he reminds me a lot of Tim Duncan in that they are low maintenance, selfless superstars. The culture is very easy to build when your superstar is wired that way,” said JJ Redick.

Redick then went on to explain how selfless Nikola Jokic is. “Always wanting to deflect credit. Always wanting to deflect attention. You see him [Jokic] light up when you talk about his teammates. You see him uncomfortable when he talks about himself. I don’t know that that’s replicable,” Redick added.
