The feud between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen has been going strong for quite some years now. Despite playing on the same team and having incredible on-court chemistry, the renowned duo doesn’t share an amicable relationship. While they used to be close while playing for the Bulls, there has been a rift in their relationship in recent years.
It all began when Scottie Pippen expressed discontent with Michael Jordan’s docu-series ‘The Last Dance,’ claiming that the documentary didn’t accurately portray Pippen and his teammates. To make things even worse, Scottie Pippen shared a controversial claim about Jordan a few days back. Meanwhile, an NBA legend recently got in on this claim and tried his best to dissect it.

Scottie Pippen, the former Chicago Bulls legend, recently made an appearance on Stacey King’s podcast ‘Gimme the Hot Sauce,’ where he caused controversy by calling Michael Jordan a “horrible player.” These remarks made the simmering conflict between the renowned duo even worse.
During the podcast, Pippen talked about the concept of the best NBA player in history. He, however, expressed his skepticism, pointing to the sport’s emphasis on teamwork as justification. Pippen then bought up Jordan’s time with the Bulls prior to Pippen joining the team. Surprisingly, he stated that he had seen Jordan play in person and thought it was lacking. He said, “I’ve seen Michael Jordan play before I came to the Bulls. You guys have seen him play. He was a horrible player.”?
Recently, an NBA Hall Of Famer chimed in with his opinions on Pippen’s claim, during an episode of the ‘Dan Patrick Show’.
It was Reggie Miller, the famed Indiana Pacers icon who shared his insight on Pippen’s comments. He said, “I think it’s more word choice that we’re focusing in on here. The word ‘Horrible,’ no it wasn’t horrible because he was a top-three player at the time. He was an all-ending player, he was electrifying. “
Miller stated that Jordan didn’t start winning on the court and playing team basketball until Pippen got on the team.
Reggie Miller said, “Look we know there’s an ongoing feud,? do you do we want to call it a feud? Michael says ‘Look I didn’t win until Scotty got here.'”
He then went on to point out that Jordan’s documentary really triggered Pippen. He believes that Pippen’s latest claim might have just been a pure choice of words. Jodan wasn’t horrible. He just didn’t know how to play team basketball until Pippen got on the team.
Michael Jordan’s documentary sparked the feud
The ESPN documentary series “The Last Dance,” generated criticism as it downplayed Scottie Pippen’s vital contribution to the Chicago Bulls dynasty in the 1990s. Despite the fact that Pippen’s importance to the team’s triumph is universally accepted, some claim that the series did not enough emphasize his accomplishments. The documentary mentioned Pippen’s contract troubles but mostly focused on Jordan and the Bulls’ final championship season. Due to this, several viewers and Pippen himself thought that his contribution was underappreciated, leaving him hurt and disillusioned.

When Jordan briefly retired from basketball, Pippen’s worth to the team increased dramatically despite accepting a relatively long-term contract for less money. Pippen took on the responsibility of guiding the Bulls to playoff victory and maintaining their position as a top team. However, the documentary failed to portray this, adding to Pippen’s frustration.
