Shaquille O’Neal is among the funniest people in the entertainment industry. While his NBA career was stellar, his work off the court has been just as entertaining. Whether it is banter with Charles Barkley or hilarious music videos shot at Home Depot, Shaq is a constant source of amusement for NBA fans. However, one aspect of his career that doesn’t get a lot of coverage is his music career. As a DJ, O’Neal keeps going from strength to strength. Going by the name of Diesel, his music career really seems to be getting a second wind. On the back of a music festival that he’s organizing in Texas, Shaq posted a video on his IG.
However, his son was quick to catch his father’s lies.

Myles O’Neal shuts down his father in an epic manner
At his music festival, Shaq had taken over DJ-ing duties. As someone tossed him a makeshift basketball, the crowd held up a miniature rim. Shaq, in good spirits as usual, put up a shot and it splashed straight through. In classic Big Diesel fashion, Shaq addressed a long-time criticism of his game in his caption about the event.
For his career, O’Neil was a poor free-throw shooter. An average NBA player shoots about 70-75% from the FT line. Shaq, for his career, hovered around the 52% mark. As a result, it is the only blemish in his otherwise perfect game.

Of course, Shaq’s common rebuttal to the criticism was that he “made ’em when it counts.” On the reel, Shaq used the phrase as a caption. “I make em when I need to make em,” he quoted followed by a laughing emoji. In the video, however, he referenced a previous instance where he called himself the “black Stephen Curry.”
This time, his son and fellow DJ, Myles O’Neal, was ready to put that notion to bed. Curry, while light-skinned, still comes from the black community. Myles was quick to point this out as he commented. “Steph curry is black.” As Shaq and the Currys share an amicable relationship, they also took the joke in light fun with mom Sonya Curry even popping into the comment section.
“Hold up…. my son is Black… how about “Dark skinned ❤️Steph!!!” As the banter carried on, what was noticeable in the reel was the sheer crowd the event has pulled.

An already platinum record-selling artist, Shaq’s music career is seeing a major revival. Perhaps his move to Texas is the last piece to the DJ Diesel puzzle. In the meanwhile, it is a pleasure to see him share such a happy relationship with his family and fans.
