Charles Barkley struggled with weight issues in his early days. Later, Chuck decided to get in shape which improved his game. After his retirement, however, he started to gain weight again. Barkley has been on a fitness journey for some time and has seen improvement in his health. He is often seen advising young athletes to focus on their health and physique. One of Barkley’s close friends revealed that the Round Mound of Rebound is helping him with his weight loss.
As someone who has been through the same set of issues several times, Barkley seemingly has a lot of wisdom to share. He is also an inspiration to his friend at TNT.

Charles Barkley becomes a weight loss coach for his close friend
There were several inspirations for Chuck when he was trying to cut weight. Another one of his close friends, Shaquille O’Neal has been on a similar journey and is showing great results. The 11x NBA All-Star took some inspiration from Shaq as well. Other than that, Chuck was also inspired by a veteran whose story really moved him. He was inspired by the story of the army veteran, David Murphy who couldn’t get up to play with his kids due to his weight. Murphy then proceeded to lose close to 170 pounds and inspired one of the finest athletes in the world. Although Chuck is not yet close to his desired outcome, his progress is surely impressive.

The NBA veteran has managed to shed 57 pounds and he is looking to lose another 20+. Although his doctor is not allowing him to go down any further, Chuck seems happy with the results he is getting. On the latest episode of The Steam Room, the 1993 MVP talked about his weight loss and being a mentor to his friend, Tim Kiely better known as TK, who is a producer on the show. This was the last season for Kiely on the show as he is now going into retirement. While talking about his retirement plans, TK said that he will try to lose weight.

He said, “I’m going to lose weight with some help from Charles who’s been giving me tips.”

Barkley then proceeded to detail his weight loss till now. He said, “I can’t get to 250 which was my planned weight. So I’mma get to 270. I started my journey at 352.” The progress made by Chuck at the age of 60 is impressive and the fact that he is motivating others to get better is another quality of him being a legend.
