Kevin Durant has not ended his saga with the Brooklyn Nets. Experts are still speculating about which team he will go to. Any answer to this question has not been written yet. Durant has kept his cards close to the chest. The two-time NBA champion has not yet responded to any of these rumors. He is usually active on Twitter, but his silence on this is certainly deafening.

The only question is what both parties want in this trade. The Nets have been asking for an All-Star level player and a few first-round picks in place of Durant. Many teams have the assets, but are they willing to sacrifice them for a 34-year-old player?

According to Zach Lowe, teams are flooding Nets GM Sean Marks’ phone with inquiries and offers. “Teams that haven’t even been mentioned before are calling the Nets every day,” says Lowe.

I know this for a fact and they are getting the impression that the Nets are slow-playing this. They are going to wait and they understand that Phoenix is out there, but a two-team trade with Phoenix, as Woj says, is very complicated.”

Teams need Kevin Durant to choose them

He continues, “I am not even sure the Nets want DeAndre Ayton as part of that trade. But to go back. What does Kevin Durant want? That matters too.” He mentioned to Malika Andrews that none of the “underdog” teams like the Raptors, the Pelicans, and the Grizzlies are loaded with assets.

Lowe says that they are not offering their best stuff until they talk to Durant and his people. They want a sense of whether he wants to come there or not. “Hey, would you like to come here? Do you think this is a good situation? Because we’re not offering our best stuff, whatever you think it is, if you’re going to come here and be moody,” Lowe added on how teams are approaching the situation.

Lowe has further stated that teams need to know that Durant has chosen them to decide on the assets they want to give up. If that does not take place, there will be no trade.

The two most realistic teams that have been named are Miami and Phoenix. There are other teams such as the Raptors, the Pelicans, and the Grizzlies “smelling” around these waters.
