In hindsight, it feels that if not for LeBron James, the Lakers were still continuing that drought from the post Kobe Bryant era. However, thanks to the backend work from Magic Johnson, Rob Pelinka, and Jeanie Buss, they are again a great team today.

When King James entered the squad, he brought with him the experience of transforming two franchises. Plus, he was a 3x Champion entering Lakers and someone who was hungrier for more and eyeing that GOAT recognition. As an icing on the cake, he was also quick with building relationships with the team ownership.

So what were certain things that both LeBron and Jeanie could learn from one another?

Jeanie Buss endorsing LeBron James as a superhero

The Lakers’ proud president, Jeanie Buss takes immense pride in owning the contract rights of LeBron James. It is evident how her face lights up every time she discusses Bron and how he is so important to the franchise today.

In a recent interview with celebrity author Jay Shetty, Jeanie listed a few things that Bron’s demeanor teaches her. The 59-YO detailed, “He is fearless. I watch him and everything he says or does has a purpose. It isn’t just wasted words or to get on camera. If he says something, he has thought about it and it means something and he is very consistent in his message. He’s like a real life superhero because he fights for what he believes in. And he’s the strongest person I’ve ever seen on the court. He’s just been an inspiration and I’ve enjoyed getting to know him as a person.”

True, Bron has been very vocal and critical of the things he feels harm his fellow players’ best interests. Also, his stand on social issues and philanthropy has made him a leading figure even off the court.

Has the Lakers president taught anything to Bron?

A very wise and down-to-earth Jeanie Buss first shrugged off the idea and laughed at the idea of teaching anything to the legend. But being an extremely powerful owner of the league’s top valued team, she later had something to add.

The very influential Jeanie exclaimed, “He has inspired me and I hope that I’ve inspired him because he has a daughter. I hope that as a father, he sees what is possible for his daughter because of the collaboration that we have in winning the championship.”

It is easy for the public to believe that Jerry Buss transferred powers to Jeanie and she acquired a well-oiled machine. On the contrary, Jeanie took the keys of a franchise that works under tremendous pressure to stay at the top. A Sacramento team can be very happy if they make it into the Playoffs, but anything below the conference finals is a shame for the Lake Show. So the way the Lakers are proceeding, there’s much to credit Jeanie and just so much to learn from her ever-smiling face and the compassion for her team.
