Shaquille O’Neal was a force to reckon with, during his playing time. Apart from being blessed with physicality, his defensive and shooting prowess made him one of the greatest to ever play in the NBA.

Shaq is 7-foot-1 inch tall and he makes others seem miniature in front of him. Despite being so tall, Shaquille O’Neal is no match for the tallest person, to ever take birth.

A recent photo has gone viral on the internet where Shaq can be seen standing next to a replica of the tallest person ever.

Shaquille O’Neal and the tallest person to ever exist

If you are wondering who the tallest person in the world is, it’s Robert Wadlow. Born in Illinois on February 22, 1918, Wadlow was 8 foot 11 inches tall.

To put into perspective, Robert Wadlow made Shaquille O’Neal look small! The recent photo of Shaq and a replica has resurfaced, and it gives us an idea of just how tall Wadlow was.

Although Shaq makes everyone in front of him seem small, this time the tables have turned for him.

Is Shaq the tallest player in the NBA?

Despite his huge physical build, Shaquille O’Neal is nowhere near the tallest player in the NBA. The tallest recorded player in the NBA is Gheorghe Muresan.

The Romania international had a reported height of 7 feet 7 inches, with some sources claiming his height to be 7 feet 8 inches.

How was Muresan as a player?

Despite having his career cut short by injuries, Muresan was able to leave his mark in the NBA. He is still the tallest player to ever play in the NBA.

He was drafted in the 1993 draft and was signed by the Washington Bullets, later known as the Washington Wizards. After having a good start to his career, Gheorghe Muresan’s injury woes stunted his rise. He missed the entire 1997-98 season to injury.

Muresan spent the latter part of his career with the Brooklyn Nets, then known as New Jersey Nets. He appeared in only 31 games for the Nets as he kept battling his injuries. He averaged 9.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in his short-lived career which spanned around 300 games.
