A card having Michael Jordan’s name and face on it could itself be an attractive option. Rare Jordan cards include some rookies, autographs, and memorabilia cards. Some of these cards could fetch a fortune. A rare edition card that also included pieces of match worn fabric could be worth six figures.
A Winfield man named Chris Salcedo discovered one such card a few months ago. He chanced upon the card while rummaging through a box of cards that he purchased on eBay for $400. To Salcedo’s astonishment, he found a rare Jordan card from the 2002-01 ‘Upper Deck Pros & Prospects Signature Jersey Series’.
The card also contained a part of Jordan’s match worn jersey along with his signature. Salcedo had the card, jersey piece, and signature professionally scored. He has now put it up for auction via Golden Auctions. A collector informed Salcedo that the card is worth an estimated $200,000. Salcedo reckons that the card could sell in the low-to-mid-six figures.
