LBJ trading card sells for big money
LeBron James‘ 2004-05 sophomore trading card was put up for auction recently. It was sold for a staggering $1.2 million by Goldin Auctions. It is now the highest-grossing LeBron James trading card made after the 2003-04 NBA season.

However, while the trading card sold for a lot of money, it still pales in comparison to James’ rookie card. LeBron James’ rookie trading card, which included a piece of his 2003-04 Cleveland Cavaliers jersey, was sold last year in an auction for a record $1.8 million. It is the most expensive trading card to be sold in an online auction.

James’ 2004-05 season was one of his best. After an incredible rookie season, where he won the Rookie of the Year accolade, James had a significant leap in performances. He became an All-Star for the first time in his career and has been an All-Star since. Furthermore, he was the runner-up in the MVP race that season, finishing behind eventual winner Steve Nash.

LeBron James continues to impress
James has had a legendary career so far. To many, he is considered one of the top-two greatest players of all-time, alongside Michael Jordan. Given how much pressure and scrutiny James was under when he came to the NBA, it is a big surprise how well he has done.
