Not only did the Warriors advance to the Finals, but they also helped an old foe win $1 million because of that. Rapper Drake, who had picked the Warriors to win the West, cashed out a million dollars today. And it’s surprising he picked them to win, especially after he was abused by Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant in the past.

Back in 2019, the Warriors took on the Toronto Raptors. And Drake being for Canada is a huge Raptors fan. He is seen on the courtside regularly attending games. And when Toronto reached their first NBA Finals, he had to be there.

In game 1 of the series, he was talking smack to every one of the Warriors. He even got into a confrontation with some of the players as the Raptors took game 1. But in game 2, the Warriors got their revenge, and they let Drake hear it.

Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson went looking for Drake

After the Warriors won game 2, they were on the lookout for Drake. And Durant and Thompson were waiting for him and they found it in the tunnel, trying to get out of the arena. Both KD and Klay let him hear it calling him by his first name and all.

Klay said he wasn’t talking too much today, and he even called him a ‘buma–‘. Durant and Drake exchanged a few more words as both of them were exiting the arena. This was all his in good spirits, as no hostility was involved.

In the end, Drake got the last laugh. The Raptors went to Golden State and won 2 games on their floor to take a 3-1 lead. Warriors came in game 5 to take it back to the Oracle, but they lost Durant to injury. The Raptors beat the injury-stricken Warriors in 6 games to secure their first title in franchise history and the city celebrated that win in spectacular fashion.

The Warriors are back in the Finals again after two years, and this time; they don’t have to deal with Drake on the sideline. Drake will be happy though, as he made a million bucks by betting on the Warriors.
