So just as he reached a buyout with the Grizzlies, the Lakers secured his services with a $2.6 million check.

Stepping into his glorious NBA career’s 16th year, The Yoga Instructor is coming off a season where he played with two teams. Plus, he averaged a career-low 4.2 points in the playoffs as he led the Clippers’ bench on 13 nights. Looks like the only LA jersey that suits Rondo’s style is the Lakers jersey.

Why is Johnny a great fit for the Lakers?
The Lakers already had enough guards to rotate the rosters when they brought in Rajon Rondo as a filler. So, one can expect Rondo to spend fewer minutes on the court than he did in his last two seasons with the Lake Show.
However, there is an important role that will need his expertise. After Jared Dudley’s surprising move to become the Mavericks’ assistant coach, the Lakers are short of a leader in the locker room. Now, Rondo is himself an aspiring coach and great at leadership, making him a perfect swap to fill the shoes of Dud.
