According to Shaq, his son is basically Giannis Antetokounmpo but with a twist. His son, Shareef O’Neal has a jump shot! Moreover, he revealed he will support his son no matter which team Shareef joins.

There is no doubt Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest players in the NBA. Apart from winning the NBA title 4 times, he has many individual accolades to his name, including three finals MVP awards.

Moreover, he is looking to pass on the greatness to the next generation. Talking about his son Shareef O’Neal, Shaq had a lot to say. According to him, his son has had a lot of bad luck regarding college, but he is talented enough to show the world who he is.

Shaq said, “Wherever he decides, I’m behind him. What people don’t know is, I know I have a Giannis with a jump shot! I have a Giannis Antetokounmpo with a jump shot but people don’t know. So, hopefully, he gets to go to a place where he can showcase his talent so you know, people can see who he really is.”

Being compared to someone like Giannis Antetokounmpo at such a young age is an achievement in itself. Moreover, Shaq O’Neal is a huge fan of ‘The Greek Freak himself’. He famously mentioned how Giannis is better than Shaq was when asked about his thoughts regarding the player. 

How good is Shareef O’Neal?

Shareef O’Neal is one of the hottest prospects in the LSU tigers currently. Son of former LSU legend Shaquille O’Neal himself, Shareef has a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

Currently, he plays for the Tigers as a forward. He averages 2.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.1 assists and has a 50% field goal percentage. Blessed with physicality, he stands at a huge 6’10” frame at only 22 years, which he will use to his advantage once in the NBA.
