The Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls matchup had only just begun when fans started to notice that the purple and gold were already on a slippery slope. The Bulls came onto them with full force and barely let them come close to their score throughout the game. After the way they ended the Clippers’ seven-game winning streak, this certainly didn’t come as a surprise.

Another thing that was hardly a surprise was the way their two superstars DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine completely overpowered the Lakers. It only solidified the prediction that the Bulls will take this win from the Lakers.

The Chicago Bulls certainly made up their mind to start a winning streak of their own by defeating the second Los Angeles team in a row. In just the first two-quarters of the game, duo DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine took the offense by storm.

Both of them were already in their double-digits as soon as it was halftime. DeRozan had 22 points, while LaVine wasn’t too far behind either with 17 points under his name as well.

Even though Russell Westbrook came up quite big as well, leading the way in points. It could not match up to the production LaVine and DeRozan were coming up with together. In fact, fans could not get enough of this action and were blown away by the Bulls duo’s performances.

The Lakers are likely to lose against the Chicago Bulls

With two quarters done and dusted, the Lakers just seem inefficient in front of the powerful Bulls. At halftime, the score was 57-48, in Chicago’s favour and the Lakers were unable to utilize Anthony Davis. This will probably be the biggest reason for their loss against the Bulls. Of course, LeBron James‘ absence is just the cherry on top.

Unless more players start contributing to the scoreboard apart from Russ, the Lakers are doomed. Instead of improving their record, they will become the team that is barely keeping alive. After the offseason they had, and all the hype around their super team, their losses just become more and more humiliating. At this pace, there is no way they look like title contenders.

Do you think the purple and gold can pull off an upset despite their slow first half? Or are they destined to reach the finish line as the losers?
