LeBron James is always vocal with his opinions. From tweeting about his favorite rap album to his favorite football star, he is never shy to state his opinion. And in recent times, his love for football is quite visible as he often speaks out about his favorite stars or a particular performance of a player. Though he has numerous players and teams who he is a fan of, recently, ‘King James’ picked out his favorite football star. He chose Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans as his favorite player. However, it seemed James changed the favorite player he chose a few years back.

James commended Henry’s ability during a broadcast of Thursday Night Football on Amazon. James clearly pointed out the reason behind the appreciation.

Henry’s ability makes LeBron James switch his favorite player

James said he was a fan of the size and strength of the running back, along with his skill. He said, “My favorite player in the NFL, man,” regarding Henry. However, when asked what made James a fan of Henry, he described how ‘King Henry’ changed the entire scene of running backs with his towering height to survive in the field.

Then it was only further praise that came from James. The four-time NBA champion said he could run between the tackles as well as outside of tackles. But also added he’s going to run around you after getting on the edge. The former Offensive Player of the Year might have also grabbed the attention of James with his recent stellar performances this season.

However, a few years back, LeBron James, during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, revealed how Carson Wentz of the Philadelphia Eagles was his favorite player. He said to Tim McManus of ESPN in 2017, “My favorite player right now is Carson Wentz.” Notably, LeBron James was a Dallas Cowboys fan at the time.

The two statements of James might seem to contradict his own opinions. However, it is probably the performances of Derrick Henry in recent years that made him change his view on his favorite football player.
