The Kyrie Irving situation is probably the hottest topic on social media. The Brooklyn Nets are shopping both of their stars and have reached out to several teams; Luka Doncic’s Mavericks were one of the teams Irving listed as a preferred destination. As they wait for a Kyrie Irving deal, the whole NBA and its fan base are riveted to their screens.
Mr. Fourth Quarter has also been removed from the Nets’ social media and promotional campaigns. Given that Kevin Durant still has a few years left on his contract, it would seem that the Nets are not yet ready to give up on him. Any upcoming Irving trade will occur once the Nets resolve their Durant issue. He desperately wants to go to the Lakers and reunite with LeBron James.

Dallas Mavericks were reportedly not interested in Kyrie Irving. He may be one of the best players in the NBA right now, but his attitude is what is keeping him from being on an elite team. When NBA fans heard of this news, they took to Twitter and began the usual Twitter finger banter around him and Luka Doncic.
The post garnered hundreds of likes and comments and became a trending topic soon. Irving and the Lakers are closer to an agreement than before. Reports suggest that a three-team deal involving Brooklyn Nets, LA Lakers, and either Spurs or Raptors is underway.

The fans did not take the news too kindly. Fans called the decision necessary as the Ankletaker would take a lot of assets and disrupt the team chemistry. Here are some of the reactions.

Why would they give up assets for a Rental that is leaving or probably threatning to not even play a single game.
Not to mention that fit wise doesn't make sense cause Luka needs the ball to be efficient.

The reality is Irving’s market value is quite low right now. Mavericks know how Irving deals with management and the front office. He would hold his own team practices with select players after coach Steve Nash would finish his training. He has disrupted the Nets‘ chemistry as well. Irving once said that he does not prioritize basketball as much as other things in his life.
Dallas Mavericks refuse to show interest in pairing Doncic with Irving
Fans believe that he would not be a fit for the Mavs. Irving and Luka are both ball dominant players and need the majority of possessions to be impactful. According to analysts at Clutchpoints, the Irving to Dallas deal is pretty much off the charts.

Mavs have very little interest in a Kyrie trade. I’ve heard Nets reached out, but for one, Jason Kidd would have to wildly shift his “chemistry and accountability” buzz words.
And that’s before factoring in compensation, fit, etc.
But always nice to see friends being friendly!

Moreover, neither star Durant nor Irving is being traded by the Nets in a hurry. Although he still has a contract with the Nets, the team is prepared to part ways with the guard. He objected to receiving the COVID-19 shot. He was unable to take part in the bulk of games over the past two seasons because this was against the New York rule. This is perhaps why Dallas is unwilling to deal with Irving.

After the Mavericks lost Jalen Brunson to free agency, one may have anticipated that they would be all over Kyrie Irving. That’s not the case, though, as both teams appear to have no interest in the controversy surrounding the seasoned guard. The Kyrie-Mavs rumours have been put to a rest.
