The era of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant didn’t last long in Brooklyn. The duo was only just starting to show their true ceiling to the NBA world. However, while the tandem broke up, an NBA insider feels there is still hope the two friends could find a way back together.
Since his trade, Irving has publicly spoken about his treatment with the Brooklyn franchise. In addition, he has also admitted about his dynamic with KD not working out. On hearing about his trade, he expressed a sense of happiness and looked forward to their coming battles.
However, while KAI has moved to Dallas, Brian Windhorst revealed a shocking secret. According to him, the former number-one overall pick was once sold on going to Phoenix.

The news may or may not be true. In addition, there is still time for both the franchises to make something happen. However, it seems unlikely a blockbuster trade as such will go down this season. Notably, Kyrie Irving made his season debut for Dallas with an impressive 24-point showing. He seems committed to the mission and helping Luka Doncic elevate the franchise to championship status.
On the other hand, the Suns have lost major assets in their trade for Kevin Durant. The 13-time All-Star came at a hefty cost of Mikel Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a swap. Hence, the possibilities of a Kyrie-Durant reunion this season are slim.
