Charles Barkley is a household name for four decades now. First as a player and then as an NBA analyst, Chuck made it to the pinnacle wherever he went. But there still is an area where he traveled the distance and yet not many people discuss it, his marriage.

The Incredible Bulk might’ve played for three teams in his 16 years in the league, but he remained faithful to just one woman throughout his lifetime. In fact, he wished for a similarly long married life for her daughter, who just tied knots during the All-Star 2021 weekend. He expressed on Jimmy Kimmel’s show how he’d not want to spend money on another wedding.

How did Charles Barkley meet his better half?

The Big Chuck met Maureen Blumhardt while he was still playing for the Philadelphia Sixers. Sometime around 1985, the 6’6” NBA player met the 5’2” Maureen at a restaurant named City Avenue. The two lovebirds wasted little time in falling for each other and fought against odds to finally marry in 1989. 

Both Charles and Maureen like to keep their personal life out of the sight of the media. Hence, they tied knots in a private ceremony at a Philly courthouse and chose against sensationalizing their relation. The same year, the couple gave birth to their one and only daughter, Christiana Barkley.

Interestingly, neither Charles nor Maureen have an official Instagram account and they’ve passed the trait to their daughter too. Christiana has a private account that says, “very fun person unless I’m tired” and allows no more than a couple thousand known people to follow her.

Maureen is a former model and currently resides with Charles at a $2 million property in Scottsdale, Arizona. Earlier in her modeling days, Maureen did commercials for exercise products, among other things. She even gave acting a shot, but none of those endeavors took flight.

As a very strong personality, Maureen never quit on herself as she later worked as a legal aid and picked a purpose. A 61-YO, Maureen is blonde & beautiful, someone who stuck with Chuck in his tough times. No doubt the NBA on TNT host lacks an NBA ring, but his wedding ring makes up for it. That’s how the duo makes for one of the rare celebrity couples to complete 30+ years of togetherness.
