And it’s not just this week, but the coaching staff has been criticized for the poor play of the Lakers since the start of the campaign. Frank Vogel in particular has come under the most criticism for his play-calling in late-game situations. There are also rumors going around that Vogel and Russell Westbrook have a rift between them. Many have called for Vogel to be fired, but the Lakers seem to be trusting of the head coach to see this season out. However, there is a ray of hope for the Lakers as they take on the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

Phil Jackson, the legendary Lakers head coach, was spotted in attendance at the game. The most decorated coach in NBA History was the Lakers head coach for a long time and has retired from the job almost a decade ago.

Los Angeles Lakers fans have a glimmer of hope

With the sighting of Phil Jackson, the Lakers fans were, at the very least, delighted. They asked him to come back to the team and save them from embarrassment. They also asked Vogel to be fired immediately.

The Lakers won three titles in Phil’s first three years. After losing in the 2004 NBA finals, Jackson left the job amid rumors of a rift with Kobe Bryant. He did return after a year, but did not enjoy success in his first three years. However, he did win two more in 2009 and 2010, making him the most decorated coach in NBA History.
