The conclusion of the 2023 NBA draft lottery has possibly revealed the destination of 19-year-old Victor Wembanyama. The San Antonio Spurs have an opportunity to add another generational big man to their franchise after David Robinson and Tim Duncan. Many fans and analysts believe the 7’4 French sensation is the greatest draft prospect of all time, better than even LeBron James. Draymond Green and Damian Lillard don’t seem to share the same opinion, however.
Many NBA stars, including Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and LeBron James himself, have shared their thoughts on Wembanyama. Although Green also sang praises of the 19-year-old, he did not believe that the Frenchman is the greatest prospect ever.

On his YouTube podcast, The Draymond Green Show, Green gave his two cents on the 2023 NBA draft lottery results. With the San Antonio Spurs clinching the first overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft, Green congratulated the franchise and its head coach, Gregg Popovich, on the opportunity to draft the young French prospect.
Victor Wembanyama has the potential to completely dominate his opponents with his unique skill set. The 19-year-old, despite being a big man, is a ball handler who moves like a wing on the court. Unlike other big men, he has the skills, including a jumper and the ability to make threes. Draymond Green has rejected the perspective which says Wembanyama is a more hyped prospect than LeBron James.

Even though he agreed that the Frenchman was definitely the best prospect since LeBron, he wasn’t the best ever. On his podcast Green Stated, “LeBron James was a phenom from 15 years old. LeBron James was the No.1 pick as a 15-year-old. I can’t quite say Victor Wembanyama was the no.1 pick as a 15-year-old. Although we like to move on fast to the next thing, I’m just not going off the rail and saying he’s a better prospect than LeBron.”
In France?s LNB Pro A league, Wembanyama averaged 21.5 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. Wembanyama is tough to defend because of his size and has been the focal point of every NBA franchise. Green isn’t the only NBA superstar who shared his thoughts on this debate.
Damian Lillard concurred with Draymond Green about LeBron James
The Portland Trail Blazers star?Damian Lillard shares a similar opinion to Green. Lillard also believes that LeBron James was the most hyped NBA prospect coming to the league. To validate his statement, he tweeted about LeBron’s hype on Twitter.
