It looks like it is LeBron James‘ world and we are all just living in it. He is widely known to be the reigning king of the league and perhaps of the game of basketball today. His Instagram handle reflects this regality with his handle being titled, ‘King James’. Ahead of the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James cheekily posted a picture of him about to shoot the ball. But the background of the photo has left NBA fans online in splits.
LeBron corrects the lettering on the court
James was at the Golden 1 Center for the game, an indoor arena, that is the home of the Sacramento Kings. He resorted to a “corny” antic as he crossed out the ‘S’ from the emboldened ‘KINGS’ written on the court. This was visible on his Instagram post. Essentially, it looked like the Sacramento court was welcoming the King, a.k.a. LeBron James.

King James is one of the rarified players who has scored over 37,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 10,000 assists in the NBA. He has won many honors and awards and continues to inspire a whole new generation with his performances on the court. His stature has undoubtedly been earned because of his heroic performances and leadership qualities over his illustrious NBA career. Coupled with four championship rings so far, LeBron seemingly checks all the boxes to hold such a title.
Does LeBron James relish his title?
Former basketball player, Brendan Haywood, recalled how LeBron James used to introduce himself as ‘King James’ in 2010. Haywood recalled, “I get a text from a number that I don?t know. It?s LeBron. He says: ?What?s up, this is ‘King James’. It was a little weird he called himself ‘King James’ but I kept going.”

In a family picture for Vanity Fair, LeBron James didn’t just pose. It may as well have been a royal portrait of his whole family. They were dressed beautifully and exuded royalty. He wrote in the caption, “There?s King?s and Queen?s/Royalty in America as well and I hope I can be one of the ones who showcase that on a daily basis“.
The invisible crown adorned on his head was omnipresent, for sure.
