Over the years, the Boston Celtics have produced some iconic NBA stars. Unfortunately, they haven’t always been able to convert this into titles. One of their great guard-forwards has been Paul Pierce. In a career spanning around twenty years, the now 44-year-old earned himself tons of accolades. He was a wily customer on court, and had his own bag of tricks. This got him a place in the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team, alongside LeBron James and others. However, many people have criticized his inclusion, to which he has hit back.

In his prime, Pierce was considered one of the fiercest competitors in the league. He was compared to some of the best, and his contributions even won the Celtics a title in 2008. With 10 All-star appearances and an NBA Finals MVP award, his glittering stint in the NBA ended back in 2017. The veteran is currently an analyst on ESPN and various other programs.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Pierce addressed how people need to do their homework before making a judgement.

Previously, the Celtics great has said some stuff on television about legends such as James and Dwyane Wade. Naturally enough, things got taken out of context, and people have lashed out at him. Moreover, his inclusion in the NBA-75 has been the talk out of town. Now, he has had enough. “This new generation is pretty dumb. They don’t do their research. They listened to some of the stuff I said on TV about LeBron and Dwyane Wade and all that and they don’t understand that’s just TV,” he quoted.
