Over the last few weeks, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has been creating a lot of buzz around the league. He has been in sensational form and fans are witnessing his transition from a star to a superstar right in front of their eyes.
Be it scoring or playmaking, Luka is carrying the team on his back. Due to his insane efforts, the Mavericks have improved their record to 17-16 this season. They now have a legitimate shot to make a run for a playoff berth in the second half of the season.
Looking at the game of Luka Doncic can mesmerise any NBA fan. It’s safe to assume that he will become the face of the league in the coming years. But what retired NBA player is his game similar to? Well, that might be difficult to guess, but someone who has few similarities with Doncic is Celtics legend Paul Pierce.

Paul Pierce believes he sees hints of his game in Luka Doncic, Jimmy Butler, and Jayson Tatum
During his playing days, Paul Pierce was an excellent player. However, since retiring from the NBA, Pierce has taken up the role of an analyst for ESPN. But Pierce is hardly known for accurate takes in his career as an analyst.
He is back with another questionable take as he mentioned three players who remind him of his playing style.
Jayson Tatum – “Look at his silky-smooth game — he reminds me of a younger version of me. He gets the shot off any time he wants to.”

Jimmy Butler – “Killer toughness. That’s something I believe I brought to the game, night in and night out. You knew it was gonna be a long night … You weren’t gonna out-work me.”
Luka Doncic – “If you watch his offensive game, there is not a spot on the floor he cannot get to. I know he’s not the most athletic, he’s not the fastest, but check this out: he gets his shot off every single time, any time he wants. And that was the best part of my game.”
