A final playoff push is what the Los Angeles Lakers season came down to. The trade deadline was their final shot to make the pivotal changes. Owing it to their fans, Rob Pelinka worked his magic to completely transform the Purple and Gold. Despite his leadership capabilities and hustling impact, Patrick Beverley failed to make the final cut. Now, after a short stint with no team, the defensive irritant is back in the NBA. Shams Charania announced his new home on NBA Twitter which left fans in shock.
Beverley is a star whose numbers don?t do him justice. The veteran prides himself on playing hard-nosed defense. His tenacity and never give up mentality made him a fan favorite among the Lakers Nation. Sadly, the 17-time champions traded him to the Orlando Magic to bring in a versatile backup big in Mo Bamba. Just days after the change in destination, devastating news hit the market. The Magic reached a buyout with the former All-Defensive member as reported by the NBA. Just like that, Beverley was not on an NBA roster.
He instantly generated a buzz from franchises around the league. After waiting through the All-Star weekend, Charania broke out the news of his new home. The 34-year-old is going home to Chicago.

Former Lakers star Patrick Beverley is back in the NBA
After an impressive run to the postseason last year, the Chicago Bulls have fallen apart. Their ?Big 3? is marked with inconsistencies, and so is their roster. They have faired out well against the best beating the likes of East competitors Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics. Shockingly, the losing teams have given them the most trouble. In addition, while ranked 7th in defense, they more than often fall apart once the opposition goes on a heater. The franchise has largely missed the two-way impact Lonzo Ball brings to the table. But with news of him being shut down for the season, they needed someone to replicate his presence.
Blowing Twitter minds away, Shams Charania revealed the Bulls signing Patrick Beverley for the remainder of the season. The news sure had NBA fans surprised with some believing Beverley wouldn?t be back in the NBA.

The 34-year-old has the potential to round up the talent Chicago has in their roster. Zach Lavine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic are three ball-dominant scorers who have shown only rare flashes of cohesion. Beverley is someone who can be the connector they need. As a majority starter, the former Lakers star averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Moreover, Pat Bev is a powerful presence in the locker room for younger guys like Coby White and sophomore Aye Dosomnu. His relentless defense could serve as the perfect bind for a Bulls team who have failed to deliver on a nightly basis.
