The Indiana Pacers lost to the New York Knicks 113-119 tonight at the Madison Square Garden. But what could have been a more bitter pill to swallow is watching their best succumb to an injury. Tyrese Haliburton is a key player for the team and most definitely a name that has been attached to great basketball. Draymond Green called him a “very good young player“. Zach LaVine said that the Pacers guard was “off the charts“. Fred VanVleet described him as a “special young talent“. Will tonight change the cards for him and the Pacers?

Tim Bontemps of ESPN noted that Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle stated?Haliburton “will leave the building using crutches“. The news doesn’t bode well most definitely for the Indiana Pacers, but for Haliburton himself. He has been playing at an All-Star level this whole season. Will it come to a halt after tonight?

What happened to Tyrese Haliburton?

A fall in the third quarter of the game resulted in Tyrese Haliburton with a sore left elbow and sore left knee. Rick Carlisle hoped that it is not a long-term issue with his star player getting an evaluation as early as tomorrow.

Carlisle predicted that Haliburton’s availability to play for the next few games would be questionable. He added that the player’s willingness to always play has helped them a great deal. The coach hopes that his attitude will help Tyrese Haliburton pull through.

Haliburton finished the game with 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists. He has been averaging 20.3 points and 10.2 assists per game so far this season.

The Indiana Pacers would be in a compromising spot, with many who are convinced Tyrese Haliburton has been of immense help to drive them up the NBA Table. The Pacers are currently the 7th seed with a record of 23-19 and a winning percentage of .548.

Haliburton has been racking up numbers this season. He leads the league with the most number of games with 15+ assists and 0 turnovers in the last 5 seasons. He is arguably the best player in the league right now at distributing the ball. He is leading the assists chart and is also the only player averaging double-digit assists. Haliburton has also been making shots consistently for the Pacers with good efficiency.
