Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler was listed as ‘questionable’ on Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls and then was relegated to being ruled out, owing to an illness. NBA Twitter seemingly connected the dots with his recent dietary consumption and his apparent illness. They were ‘disgusted’ at the situation Butler is going through.

Tim Reynolds reported that Jimmy Butler had a gastrointestinal problem. The cause has been linked to Butler getting served crickets prior to his game against the San Antonio Spurs?in Mexico. Even though he led the team to a win 111-101, the aftermath of his diet may have put him in a compromising spot.

Butler confessed that he ate crickets during his time in Mexico, “I had crickets, and it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t bad“. Jimmy Butler also credited the crickets for his performance. He walked away with 26 points and 5 rebounds on the night.

He said that it helped him with the altitude and confirmed that he would be eating “more crickets” the next time as well. However, it seems the crickets may have led to his absence from the game against the Bulls.

This did not fare well for the Miami Heat, as it grappled without its six-time All-Star for the twelfth time this season. He has been averaging 21.9 points and 6.8 rebounds so far this season. To make things worse, the team lost to the Bulls on Tuesday night 113-103. The Heat are currently 8th on the Eastern Conference table with a 16-16 record for the season so far.
