“Only Thing That Bothers Me About Shaq”: Despite $600 Million Net Worth, Charles Barkley Blames Shaquille O’Neal for Being a Poor Gifter

Charles Barkley, known for his extraordinary career in the NBA, is also known for his entertaining and outspoken nature, both as a basketball analyst on TNT and in his various other media appearances. Hall of Famer Chuck has “a lot to say about a lot of things.” Both Charles and Shaq have often been seen joking around and exchanging friendly banter on their show, Inside the NBA. Moreover, on the Jimmy Kimmel show, the former NBA superstar made a bold statement for his co-host and his $600 million worth friend, Shaquille O’Neal. 

On his recent visit to the Jimmy Kimmel show, Charles Barkley said that Shaq can be a poor gifter. He said, “That’s the only thing that bothers me about Shaq, he never gives you like an original gift.” 

Charles Barkley talks about Shaq’s gifting habit

When Barkley marked his presence on the Jimmy Kimmel show, he was asked about the gifts his co-worker got him for his 60th birthday, and Charles replied, “Ernie and Kenny will probably do something nice. And Shaq is probably gonna do that he do every christmas. Give stuff that he is endorsing,” he chuckled.

He also talked about how Shaq always gifts something he is endorsing. Chuck stated further that he, Ernie, and Kenny will always give something thoughtful and nice. Meanwhile, he further added about Shaquille, “it always comes down to what crap is Shaq endorsing. you in this commercial that’s not thoughtful”.

Barkley also stated, “he’s a really thoughtful guy, he loves making people happy. I love working with him. But that being said, you gotta put some thought into people’s gifts. You can’t just be giving away stuff because there’s no thought into that”.

Barkley talks about Kevin Durant’s trade

The 11-time All-Star touched on many topics in his conversation with Jimmy Kimmel. He also talked about Kevin Durant’s trade to Phoenix Suns, Barkley’s former team. When asked how Durant will play for the Suns, the NBA Hall of Famer said, “well, I think it’s gonna be great, it will be great for our city. Kevin’s a great player.” He talked about other players like Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton and that the Suns might need a couple more role players. He said, “we got a really good chance of winning, and it would be great for our city”.
