LeBron James is 4-0 as an All-Star captain after his team’s 170-150 victory over Team Durant. His side won each of the three quarters and left nothing for their opponents to take home for their charity initiative. Well, it was just another addition of a golden feather in his already bulky hat of greatness.
So after all these achievements, what does it leave for the 4-time NBA Champion to achieve? Well, there still remains one record that can make him the luckiest player as well as the proudest father, both simultaneously.

The Akron Hammer is 36-YO and still has a lot of fight in his body. The believer of mind over matter, LeBron James, signed an $85 million extension after winning his fourth ring with the Lakers. This deal ensured his place in Los Angeles until 2022-23. Now, parallelly, he has a 16-YO son who is also obtaining increased seriousness for the game of basketball. This brings in the question, what are the odds of the father-son duo playing against/alongside each other in the NBA?
In a recent interview, King James accepted such intentions and claimed, “That’s definitely one of my goals, but that’s a long-term goal. My son right now is in high school and enjoying what being a teenager is all about. But that would be pretty cool to go on my resume.”
If this goal of LeBron ever takes shape, it will bring three things to him. One, an all-time NBA record where a father and son will play actively in the same season for the first time. Two, it will ensure the L-Train must continue playing at the highest level until that draft happens. Last but not least, it will be the handling of the baton and a perfect transfer of legacy that will benefit the league after it loses the gem in a playing LeBron. Hence, making it a trillion-dollar dream.

How practical is this dream?
Well, LeBron James entered the league at an age of 18 years and 180 days in 2003. If his son stays healthy and plays consistently well enough to try his luck in the NBA Draft 2023, he will be somewhere around 18 years and 260 days of age. So for them to play in the same season, the L-Train must either receive another contract extension from Jeanie Buss-led organization or move to a different team at age 38. The chances of him playing until 2024 or even 2025 are very high given that NBA greats like Michael Jordan did play until 40.
