Trae took to his Twitter to pay tribute to The Mamba early last year. He captioned the post with Kobe’s numbers and fans on Twitter couldn’t contain their excitement. Some fans have also started speculating on a Los Angeles Lakers move for Trae in the future.
Trae Young pays tribute to Kobe Bryant
There is no denying Kobe Bryant is one of the best players ever. He won 5 NBA titles, an Olympic Gold Medal and the MVP award, among a host of other things.
But the one thing that makes Kobe stand out from other legends is his influence. The Mamba acted as a role model for young athletes and people all around the world as they followed ‘The Mamba Mentality’.
Joining the long list of people influenced by Kobe is Trae Young. The Atlanta Hawks superstar posted a pic with the Los Angeles Lakers legend himself early last year.
Needless to say, Trae Young is having a season Kobe would be proud of. He averages 28.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 9.7 assists this season. Moreover, he has led his team to the NBA playoffs.
The Atlanta Hawks take on the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs. However, the Heat holds the upper hand in this matchup. The team from south beach qualified as the number 1 seed in the East while the Hawks qualified as the number 8 seed.
