Michael Jordan possessed some otherworldly hooping talents. His ability to glide across the NBA court and torment opponents with his cut-throat skills captivated the spectators. Many fans expected his children to follow in their father’s footsteps and rule the basketball realm. However, that wasn’t the case.
Imagine how high the expectations would be if one opted to play basketball with Michael Jordan as their father. However, the Chicago Bulls legend’s daughter, Jasmine Jordan, early on decided that the game was not for her. Instead, her father utilized his fortune to help his daughter carve out her own niche in the sports world.

In an interview with ANDSCAPE in 2022, Jasmine revealed that she always loved to watch and study basketball. She even played it as a kid, with the coaches being really supportive of her not because of who she was, but because of her height. She quickly recognized, however, that she was overly reliant on her height and was unwilling to put in the extra hours to improve her skills. That’s when she knew she wasn’t cut out for the game.
Jasmine claimed that her father never put her under any pressure to follow in his footsteps. However, because she possessed the Jordan genes, she was always drawn to sports and enjoyed it as a fan.

When asked what her childhood ambitions were, she revealed she always loved fashion and aspired to be a designer. However, as she got into basketball, she fell in love with it, but not in the sense of playing. This is when Jasmine Jordan decided to combine her passions and build a successful career around them.

Michael Jordan, being a great mentor and father, always encouraged his kids to follow their dreams. In fact, given his riches, he equipped his children with a springboard to jump on and capture their dreams.

When his daughter Jasmine decided to combine her interests in sports and fashion, he supported her every step of the way. She stated that she enrolled at Syracuse University to study Sports Management. She was fascinated by the business aspect of sports, with an obvious interest in basketball.

Jasmine then added that she was certain she would bring her passion for fashion, culture, and sneakers to the forefront. For the time being, though, she desired to understand the ins and outs of managing sports organizations and teams.
This is when she began working with the Charlotte Hornets, a franchise in which Michael Jordan has a majority stake. She did, however, admit that the fashion element was still lacking, which prompted her to join the Jordan Brand in sports marketing. And it was at this point that she sensed the perfect balance of all her passions, something she had always hoped to attain.

“But I still was missing that fashion element. And that?s essentially what brought me to the Jordan Brand in sports marketing,” she said. “It?s that balance between sports, fashion and culture ? mixing it in one big pot of everything I love,” Jasmine concluded.
