A Detroit Pistons legend recently recalled his unpaid debut in the film ?Bad Boys?, and how he pissed off one of his co-stars in the process.??

John Salley recalled the memorable days of his debut in Hollywood with stars like Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. While discussing those days with Shannon Sharpe, Salley told a story where he pissed Martin with his comments.

NBA legend?s debut in Hollywood

John Salley, the Detroit Pistons legend recently came on the Club Shay Shay podcast to talk about things in and beyond NBA. The four-time NBA Champion recalled his time with Martin Lawrence while debuting in Hollywood with ?Bad Boys?. Shannon Sharpe asked Salley about his meager pay for doing a role in the film.

?I got less, I didn?t even audition. I went in and I pissed Martin off, cause he was in town he was in Miami and he had to do something to his new fiance and i was like ?Hey, how you doin? Ooh she fine, yeah she fine. You got a prenup?? Martin was mad? the NBA legend said. He further explained that Martin was pissed at him and asked him to get a ?filter?. Sharpe and Salley laughed hard at the story realizing that Martin?s first marriage didn?t end well and it was good advice from the NBA legend. Salley revealed that the actor thanked him later in life.

The legend mentioned that he already knew the director, the reason he immediately said ?yes? for the role. Salley revealed that he was supposed to be paid $476, and he also missed out on that.?

The NBA legend loved the experience and appeared again in the sequel, probably with better pay.
