Stephen Curry is the single man behind one of the biggest revolutions in sports history. The leader of the three-point era, his brand grew at a staggering pace as he made history on the court. The three-point marksman is now the face of Under Armour. His inclusion in the brand has helped them become one of the top sports merchandise brands in the world. Likewise, they wanted to reward Curry for his massive impact. And according to reports, he is set to sign a billion-dollar deal with the American company.

However, before his days with Under Armour, Curry was a part of Nike. After his historic campaign with Davidson College, the sports giants were quick to recruit him. For the first few years of his career, Stephen Curry walked around wearing Nike. However, after a failed meeting, Curry took his talents to Under Armour. And this goes down as possibly one of Nike’s biggest mistakes as they lost the Golden State Warriors superstar.

However, as far as his debut goes, Curry was proudly wearing Nike shoes on the court 13 years ago. But it wasn’t just any shoe, the reigning Finals MVP had on a pair of LeBron James’ shoes.

Before their infamous rivalry for the title of the best, LeBron James was a huge fan of Curry. He even attended his Davidson College games and was in awe of the future NBA star. Likewise, when Curry made his NBA debut in 2009, he made a little gesture toward the King. Playing against the Houston Rockets, the Baby Face Assassin put on a pair of LeBron’s Nike shoes in his first-ever NBA game.

Likewise, his first game was a statement of arrival. A lean-looking kid scored 14 points with 7-12 shooting. However, it wasn’t just his offense that stood out. Curry was also able to accumulate 7 assists and 4 steals in a close 108-107 loss. His rookie season was noteworthy as the four-time champion made the All-Rookie First team averaging 17.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game.

During this time, LeBron James was arguably the best player on the planet. However, he was still without a ring on his resume. It took the King a further three years to make his name synonymous with a champion. However, no one knew just a few years later, Curry would become arguably his biggest rival. For four consecutive years, the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers met in the NBA Finals. Stephen Curry has the upper hand against the Akron Hammer with a 3-1 record in the Finals against him.

Both are now among the biggest athletes in the NBA today. Now, the two stand as equals in terms of championships won with four each. As the NBA season has kicked in, LeBron James and Stephen Curry both have their eyes on a fifth championship. But it will be just one man who stands on top of the other.
