Two years ago, the Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce was fired from the ESPN channel. After broadcasting a live feed, including strippers and what appeared to be marijuana consumption, Pierce was fired from his job. The NBA world witnessed something similar a month ago when the Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant flashed a gun on his Instagram Live.

Although the buzz around Pierce’s incident wasn’t as much, he recently brought up his infamous Instagram live during a conversation. In fact, Pierce has maintained his stance on the unfortunate incident and getting fired from his job. He recently reiterated his opinion by saying he did nothing wrong during a podcast appearance. Pierce also received support from fans on Twitter over his take on the controversy.

Recently, the Celtics legend sat down for the I AM ATHLETE podcast where he talked about his ESPN controversy. Pierce started off by asking, “I got fired, for what?” He said that he got fired for having some “entertainment”. Pierce stated that it was his friend’s birthday and there were some girls dancing at the party. He added that he was “blowing on some tree,” as per Pierce, he was not doing anything wrong but he still got fired. He also admitted that he recorded the video himself, which eventually blew up and got him fired.

On the episode, Pierce recalled getting a call from the ESPN team. He said that they asked him what was he doing, and his response was “Didn’t yall see it?” He said that there was just entertainment at the party and he was smoking marijuana, which was legal in the state. However, this was not the first time that Pierce has talked about the two-year-old incident. At his last year’s birthday party, he even cut a cake that had one of the incident’s pictures on it.

Pierce told a different story altogether related to his leaving the job. According to his statement, LeBron James of the LA Lakers was one of the reasons.
