Basketball and hip-hop music have been going hand in hand for a long time now. Several NBA legends like Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James have all been part of rap videos and they are very popular. And in the same way, one of the latest superstars in the NBA, Luka Doncic inspired a European artist to compose a heartfelt tribute.

Many rappers and NBA players have become great friends off the court. They often attend each other’s events. Many rappers can be seen at games enjoying the action all season long. And in the same way, another upcoming sensation has become an inspiration. And this time it was the European sensation Luka Doncic. He seems to have inspired the artist and avid basketball fan Dustin Schumacher, a.k.a. Exel. He drew inspiration from Doncic’s game. And the three-time All-Star brought out a musical revelation in him. He wrote a song called ‘Luka Magic’ in just 15 minutes after the inspiration stuck, which has grown very popular these days. The song even earned Schumacher a VIP courtside ticket to see the Mavs play.

Exel said, “The fan base has just been incredible, and they’ve taken this song to something that’s bigger than myself. This is literally Texas-sized—what they’ve done with this song and just blowing it up. No matter how [the Mavericks] are doing on the court, someone is always sharing it. Someone’s talking about it.”
