Draymond Green?s contract will only increase the luxury tax for the team. According to CBS Sports in May, the Golden State Warriors were expected to pay $276 million in luxury taxes as a repeat offender for an estimated $492 million in overall salary payment. With Green?s renegotiated contract, that luxury tax will be reaching the half-a-billion mark. With Curry, Klay, Green, Chris Paul, and Andrew Wiggins earning big money next year, the Warriors owners will be wary of the amount being spent.
