The Inside The NBA crew has a very strong bond. While visibly apparent during its broadcast, host Ernie Johnson recently detailed how close the quartet really is. Calling them the closest thing to brothers, Ernie divulged the depth of love and respect that the foursome share.
With the brotherly bond though, comes the brotherly ribbing. Tune in to the show anytime and you can see someone being roasted on live television. More recently, Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith has been making headlines for spilling the beans on Charles Barkley from the crew.

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal are especially famous for their verbal sparring sessions. The two are in a never-ending one-upmanship competition. While always done in fun and banter, it sometimes feels like the exchange might turn heated. Kenny Smith, however, recently exposed Barkley.
Calling out his sensitive side, the legend mentioned how soft and kind-hearted the Chuckster really is. While he might threaten to punch people in the face, he is the complete opposite.
Calling him the one with ‘fake hype’, Kenny claimed that Barkley “ain’t all that tough”. “He’s really sensitive so like if he saw somebody he’s gonna be like, “Oh, are you okay?” and he’s gonna rub your back…”, Kenny elaborated during his appearance on the BigBoyTV podcast.
Moving further, Kenny also mentioned how Chuck tries to maintain the persona of a tough guy. “He’s gonna be like…oh excuse me miss you dropped this, can I help you across the street but I’ll smash you in the face…..Nah, bruh you ain’t a tough guy. The tough guys I know they ain’t helping no old ladies across the street.”? Another incident highlighting Chuckster’s sensitive side showed face recently.

Barkley’s love for Murray and the Nuggets
With Jamal Murray’s tears in his eyes story going viral, Barkley, an ardent Denver Nuggets supporter, immediately backed up Murray. After tearing his ACL in 2021, Jamal asked Nuggets head coach, Michael Malone, if the team would trade him as he was ‘damaged goods’. Malone, close with the entire Nuggets core, and a true players coach, embraced Murray, ardently squashing any fears.
Charles, a known fan of Murray, furthered the case. Agreeing with the Nuggets’ decision, Barkley further reminded everyone how instrumental Murray was during the Nuggets’ bubble playoff run. With sprinkles of Chuckster’s sensitive side ever prevalent, perhaps there is some truth to Kenny’s claims. With Game 2 set to begin in a few hours, who do you have winning?
