NBA fans know well the history Chris Paul has with injuries in the postseason. It has been a trend since his days with the Los Angeles Clippers. They have affected his legacy heavily keeping him away from an NBA championship. His most notable came during his days as a Houston Rockets when he couldn’t play a series-clinching Game 7 against the eventual champions, the Golden State Warriors.

Now in almost a repeat, the Phoenix Suns guard rushed to the locker room amidst an important Game 2 battle against the Denver Nuggets. With Phoenix trailing 0-1 in the series, CP3’s exclusion from the remainder of the game could give Denver the upper hand and get back in what is a close and intense Game 2.

Paul looked to be in fine touch in Game 2. The 12-time All-Star had his mid-range game going and was making the plays for the Suns. With the lead in the third quarter, he could battle for an offensive rebound. That’s when the dreadful moment occurred. As soon as he landed, CP3 knew there was something wrong.

The five-time assist leader held his groin and walked slowly along the sidelines. CP3 would exit the game at the halfway point of the third quarter.

The 37-year-old is yet to return to the game as the Suns lead 73-70 with the final quarter to go. The severity of his injury is still unknown. However, Paul won’t be returning to the game. Without their floor general, it comes down to the offensive tandem to take over both in terms of scoring and making the plays.
