Over a decade after parting ways with Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, ex-wife Shaunie found her second chance at love with pastor Keion Henderson. When it comes to first date stories there is often more than one ‘true’ story. There will always be at least one difference in both partners’ versions, which apparently applies to Mr. and Mrs. Henderson as well. Shaunie and her husband are all set to premiere the first episode of their podcast, Growzone on February 2, 2023. The couple recently dropped a teaser on the podcast’s official Instagram page, which might have intrigued people further.

Shaunie and Keion are enjoying their marital bliss and the couple looks happier than ever. It is evident because the couple occasionally shares adorable photos and videos of each other on their social media handle. So the question arises, how did they meet in the first place?

Shaunie spills the tea on how she first met her second husband

In the teaser, Keion Henderson can be seen asking Shaunie to share the story about their first date. Shaunie began by saying that it was an ‘impromptu date’ as she had gone out with her friends and caught up with him without any prior plans. Henderson had asked her to drop by his hotel. However, Shaunie was not comfortable with meeting him in his hotel room, therefore, she instead met him at the hotel’s restaurant.

Shaunie recalled, “We sat and we had such an awesome conversation. Then, it was time to wrap it up and I said, ‘I’m a lady and I need to go home. You’ve had me out way too late sir. And he said, ‘No…no…please don’t go. Not yet. I want you to stay a little longer. Just keep talking, we’re having such a good time’ and I was like, ‘No, it’s way too long and I can’t be out this late on the LA streets alone like this. That’s not safe’. He was like, ‘No please, you will be fine’.”

While Shaunie narrated the story, Henderson, on the other hand, mouthed at the camera that seemingly meant, “That’s not how it happened.” When Henderson denied Shaunie’s story and called it a lie, the television personality simply said that there was no more time for Henderson to share his side of the story.

Shaunie ties the knot with Keion Henderson

The couple got engaged in November 2021 and tied the knot in May 2022. Shaunie got married to Henderson in presence of their family and friends but the highlight of the memorable event was probably when the mother of five was escorted by her sons to the alter. Having lost her father just a few months before the wedding, Shaunie’s sons – Myles, Shareef, and Shaqir, walked her down the aisle on an auspicious day.

As per reports by PEOPLE, Shaunie looked stunning in a Jean Louis Sabajai gown complete with David Yarman jewelry. The couple got married at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club.
