It’s always a debate for the fans regarding the ‘Greatest ever’ tag between LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan. The debate doesn’t end with the NBA, it extends to the singing world as well. However, a recent list of ‘Best singers of all time’ from a popular magazine made a lot of people upset. Notably, Los Angeles Lakers legend Bryant’s former teammate took to his Twitter to express his opinions on the debatable list.

Rolling Stone, a popular American magazine that focuses mostly on music, pop culture, and politics released the ‘200 best singers of all time’ list on January 1. However, the list didn’t receive a warm welcome from the online world. As the fans felt the list isn’t fair to certain iconic singers. The former Lakers star also joined the bandwagon to call out the list.

The former teammate of Kobe Bryant dismisses the list

Metta Sandiford-Artest, an iconic Lakers legend took to his Twitter to call out the common frustration. He wrote, “How is Mike Jackson. Not top 10 singers of all time? No way. He is top ten easy. And Celine Dion is top ten also.” Sandiford-Artest had the common question which most online fans felt. Meanwhile, Aretha Fraklin topped the Rolling Stone list. The ‘Queen of soul’ holds the pride of being the first woman inducted into a Rock Hall of Fame.

However, the Lakers legend was upset with Rolling stone’s ranking of Michael Jackson and Celine Dion. The king of pop ranked 86th on the list and Celine Dion failed to even find a spot in the list.

Five-time Grammy award winner Celine Dion is one of the greatest-selling singers of all time. The exclusion of her name from the list confused Sandiford-Artest. However, the magazine mentioned a disclaimer before the start of the list. Rolling Stone said, “Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List.

Sandiford-Artest’s 17-season-long career

The Chicago Bulls picked Metta Sandiford-Artest 16th overall in the 1999 NBA draft. He continued to play for the Bulls until he was traded to Indiana Pacers in 2001. In his illustrious career, he played for several franchises. Most Notably, he played longer for the Pacers and the Lakers.
