Most of the teams are all geared up and rearing to go this season. However, the Los Angeles Clippers still have a gaping hole in their roster. Kawhi Leonard is likely to stay out for most of the season or could even miss the entire season because of his ACL injury.

The Clippers were on their way to redeem themselves in the postseason last year. Kawhi was leading the LA team in their pursuit of winning the championship. However, things went downhill for the ‘Klaw’ in the series against Utah. He suffered a partial ACL tear and has been out ever since.

Clippers have no idea if Kawhi Leonard will return this season

After a scare in the post-season, Leonard gave the organization some relief when he decided to re-sign with the Clippers. But even though that might be the case, they may have to go through most of the season without the services of the ‘Klaw’. Clippers’ president of basketball operations spoke about how unaware the organization is regarding his return.

He said: “I think at this point, it’s just no one knows when you’re dealing with a recovery from an ACL [injury], the timeframe. Even just to save you guys [from asking] throughout the year, is no one knows. You just attack it day by day. He has a very detailed plan with a great group and we’ll just let his body and the doctors tell us when it’s the right time.”

With the ACL injury that Kawhi has, it may take him around six months to get back into game shape. Before that, it will be extremely difficult for him to do so. Moreover, with Kawhi’s injury history, he will have to take all necessary steps to make sure he recovers completely.

So how will the Clippers do without Kawhi Leonard? They do have a reliable roster on their hands. Moreover, Paul George took a big step up as a leader last year after Leonard went down. If they make it to the playoffs this season without Leonard, it will be a win for the organization.
