As per a video posted by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Anthony Davis opened up about the Russell Westbrook trade by addressing the controversies surrounding his former teammate during his stay in LA. The 2020 NBA champ reckoned that he was in a similar position with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he received constant pressure from the organization, fans, and media.

Anthony Davis stated, “I feel like he’s in a good place. Mentally, you know, it can weigh on someone when you feel like the world is on your shoulders, you know. From a playing standpoint, from media standpoint, fans, you know, everything. So, I’m not sure what’s gonna happen with him.”
Davis added, “But I think he’s in a good place and he’s ready to get back to being Russ, leaving everything behind that he had to deal with in the past couple of years.” Moreover, the eight-time All-Star suggested that he had known Westbrook for a long time, deeming him a ‘good dude’. Davis’ emotional take has come hours after Westbrook’s wife’s brave admission.
