The NBA world joined the NFL world to express their prayers for Damar Hamlin’s health. However, the NBA world didn’t join only to pray but also to react to an incentive tweet. Buffalo Bills‘ safety Damar Hamlin took a heavy blow to his chest, resulting in a critical injury. The incident occurred during his game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. Considering Hamlin’s condition, the NFL suspended the game. However, an insensitive tweet from Skip Bayless, a popular TV personality, infuriated several NBA stars.

According to The Washington Post report, Damar Hamlin suffered a heart attack after the collision and he is in critical condition in a Cincinnati hospital. Specifically, Hamlin’s heartbeat was restored on the field itself before taking him to the hospital.

NBA world retaliates to Bayless’s tweet

Following the on-field collision, NFL officially suspended the remainder of the game as an immediate response to the incident. Following the announcement, Skip Bayless posted an inconsiderate tweet. He considered the NFL’s decision to suspend the game as irrelevant. He said, “a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Following his tweet, Bayless received backlash from across sports. NBA stars like Damian Lillard, Isaiah Thomas, and Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to express their dissent for Bayless’s thick-skinned tweet. The former Boston Celtics star Perkins said, “You’re a sick individual. Real Talk.

Following the backlash for the tweet, Skip Bayless apologized for his insensitive tweet. He said, “I’m sorry if that was misunderstood but his health is all that matters. Again, everything else is irrelevant. I prayed for him & will continue to.”

Following the prayers from legends across sports, Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James also shared his prayers for Hamlin. James spoke to the media after his game against the Charlotte Hornets. However, James wasn’t aware of the entire incident because of his game he shared his prayers while addressing the media.
