With several investments already in his name, Shaquille O’Neal is no stranger to the world of business. Notably, being valued at $600 million, even after years of his retirement, is no easy feat for anyone. And even after achieving this much success in his post-retirement career, the NBA legend is no mood to slow down.
In his latest interview, Shaq, AKA The Diesel. revealed his future sources of income, which could still earn him millions.

This kind of investment is in the sports ownership category. Shaquille O’Neal shared he is interested in owning teams in both NFL and NBA. Though he has not named any specific teams in the leagues, he admitted that he wanted to pivot to ownership.
Shaq seemed to be convinced to purchase an NFL team, he wants to be “heavily involved”. He also said that he would like to be in good proximity to the franchise.
“If it ain’t the Dolphins, the Cowboys, or the Raiders, and those teams are way too expensive for me, but my main man JB can write that check!” he quipped. JB is none other than the billionaire businessman, Jeff Bezos, whom Shaq calls Big Man JB.

Both Bezos and Jay-Z are reported to be interested to own the Washington Commanders. The team is one of the most popular franchises and has won 3 Super Bowls. Its location in Washington DC lends to its high marketability.
Shaq is also not wrong in saying that JB can cover the expenses. According to Forbes, the Amazon founder is the fourth richest person in the world. The Washington Post reported that if Bezos was a frontrunner, he could easily outbid other potential buyers.

With regards to the NBA, Shaq said, “We are still looking to be heavily involved in purchasing an NBA team“.

Notably, Shaq was previously a minority owner for the Sacramento Kings. He had stakes from 2013 and officially sold his interests at the beginning of the year. Shaq announced on social media that the decision comes in adherence to NBA rules and “as a result of a new business endeavor“. He thanked the Kings organization and fans for his entire time with them.
