Amid the fierce battle between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat, NFL star Patrick Mahomes joined the Inside Guys for a quick chat. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs star spoke about his upcoming contest with the Splash Brothers, Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, triggered by Mahomes’ words, issued an open challenge to the Chief’s superstar on live TV.
The defending NFL Champion had already intrigued basketball circles after the announcement of his battle against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson next month. Additionally, it would become a double delight for fans if he also accepts the challenge from the big man.

Patrick Mahomes joined the Inside Guys of TNT to speak about his upcoming golf battle against the Splash Brothers. While he spoke about his preparation for the contest next month, he also mentioned the improvements in his basketball game. He said, “I am actually working on my jump shot, too.”
The statement seemingly encouraged Shaquille O’Neal to issue a challenge of his own. In response to Mahomes, the big man nudged in, as he said, “I see what you did. You told us about your jump shot, so that means you and Travis [Kelce] are challenging me and Kenny [Smith].”
Following Big Diesel’s offer, Mahomes stepped in to restrict the game to a free throw contest, but Shaq stuck to a 2-on-2 challenge, leaving the NFL star laughing in confusion.
The conversation ended on a lighter note when Charles Barkley interrupted Shaq with a joke, taking a dig at his recent hip surgery. Meanwhile, the Chiefs star is all set to take on the Splash Bros on a golf course on June 28.
