The NBA fans and spectators had a field day witnessing the Friday night game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Lakers. In an unexpected turn of events, NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe engaged in a verbal altercation with several Grizzlies stars and Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant. Following the incident, the press and fans were clueless regarding the triggering factor of the altercation. However, a Grizzlies star responded post the game and referred to the NFL legend as a “regular pedestrian.”

After the half-time buzzer, Shannon Sharpe shouted at the Grizzlies’ center, Steve Adams, and Tee Morant from the side-court. Soon the staff and the authorities of the arena barged in to stop the fight. Following the incident, Sharpe expressed his side of the story to ESPN. He said, “It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron James. He said, F*** me. I said ‘F*** you’ back.”  However, Brooks further clarified the incident to the press after the game. Moreover, Sharpe recently took a dig at King James over his upcoming NBA record.

Ja Morant’s teammate hits back at Shannon Sharpe

Jovan Buha, The Athletic reporter shared a video clip of Dillion Brooks’ response to the controversy on his Twitter. One of the reporters asked Brooks about half-time drama and the altercation with Shannon Sharpe. The reporter asked, “Do you think it’s appropriate for a fan to go back and forth with you guys like that?”

The Grizzlies forward responded with a harsh take on Sharpe. He said, “A regular pedestrian like him? No. He shouldn’t have ever came back in the game. But it’s LA.”

However, Despite the nasty altercation, the fan witnessed a close finish by LeBron James’ Lakers (122-121). The Lakers ended the 11-game winning streak of the Grizzlies at their home. The Grizzlies are among the table-toppers of the Western Conference with an impressive (31-14) record.

Shannon Sharpe and Tee Morant hug it out

Although the situation went out of control between Shannon Sharpe and Tee Morant during halftime, the duo was quick to settle the issue at the third quarter break. Dave McMenamin, an ESPN reporter shared the images of the duo hugging during the third quarter via Twitter. He also wrote, “Cooler heads have prevailed for Shannon Sharpe and Tee Morant. They shared an embrace at the end of the third quarter.”
