Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to his Twitter to congratulate the Eagles on their win and poured his appreciation for the young Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.
Along with Johnson, other NBA stars like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade took to Twitter to share their opinions on the NFC and AFC Championship games. The Eagles took on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. The 49ers suffered a frustrating 31-7 loss against the Eagles. Moreover, Philadelphia’s wide receiver DeVonta Smith’s outstanding one-handed catch became the highlight. It seems Hurts greatly impressed the 5x NBA champion with his performance.

Following the NFC Championship game, Magic Johnson shared a message to Hurts via Twitter. He wrote, “Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles for advancing to the Super Bowl!” He further went on to praise the MVP candidate and picked him as one of the best.

Jalen Hurts’ throw and Smith’s one-handed controversial catch
The one-handed catch by DeVonta Smith sparked a bit of controversy. Jalen Hurts’ 29-yard throw left Smith with no option other than a one-handed grab. Though the cheers came in from all directions, the replay of the catch left some fans in doubt. Smith seemingly couldn’t fully control the ball as he fell to the ground. Notably, the 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t challenge the call. Many fans felt that if the 49ers challenged the catch, it would have likely been a turnover.
