After spending 16 years in the league Dwyane Wade retired in 2019, bringing an illustrious career to an end. Although many players struggle to transition into a life after the NBA, the Flash has made it look seamless. Just 2 years after retiring, Wade returned to the league as a minority stakeholder of the Utah Jazz and since then has gone on to start various business ventures.
During an appearance on the Shay Shay podcast, D Wade spoke in depth about his life after the NBA and his transition to being a businessman. When asked if he, “Eat, Sleep and Breathes Business,” Wade had this to say: “I do, I don’t play Basketball no more, so my life beside being a parent, father and husband, all these things – business is my life.”
Speaking to Shannon Sharpe, Wade spoke on the difficulties and challenges faced as a businessman. He stated, “The hard part is you want it now. I have seen Magic, I have seen Jay Z. I see them and be, ooh, like Jay just sold his company for a $100 million.”
