“He Was Superman”: Michael Jordan Status Given to Patrick Mahomes Ahead of NFL Super Bowl, Certified by Veteran Sports Voice on Camera

Recently, the sporting world witnessed a thrilling finish at the AFC Championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. The Chiefs pulled off a nail-biter finish and progressed to the 2023 Super Bowl. The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Moreover, Kansas QB Patrick Mahomes impressed everyone with his performance despite his injury. Soon after the game, the sporting world drew a comparison between the iconic 1997 ‘Flu game’ of Michael Jordan. However, a veteran sports analyst further dug deeper with his interesting analogy.

Patrick Mahomes played in the AFC Championship game with a strain on his ankle. However, the injury couldn’t stop the Chief’s star from leading his side to a thrilling victory 23-20. Mahomes who had a lot of running to do in the game said, “I knew once I was getting chased it was gonna hurt regardless… But at the end of the day, man, I’m not coming out of that game unless they carry me out,” after the game.

Mahomes receives Michael Jordan status

In a recent episode of Fox Sports radio, Veteran Sports analysts Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discussed Mahomes’ performance in the championship game. Broussard was impressed with Mahomes’s performance and praised the star for his commitment. He said, “He [Mahomes] was Superman I think he could be on put on a Superman performance with that bad ankle but he did yesterday so that that was my major takeaway.”

He further went on to compare Mahomes with Michael Jordan’s stature. He said, “I was talking about Jordanesk yep that’s what I was talking about potential goat..best I’ve ever seen played a quarterback position.”

Michael Jordan’s Flu game

During one of the 1997 playoff games between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz, MJ suffered flu-like symptoms before the game. The famous docu-series ‘The Last Dance’ covered a specific segment of the game.

Despite his illness, MJ dropped a prolific 38 points and took his side to victory. Eventually, the NBA world labeled the game as the ‘Flu Game’.
